We all love to download new apps on our phones. But when was the last time that you downloaded an app that could put hundreds of pounds back into your pocket? Find out how you can save money effortlessly with the best cashback apps and websites on the market.
We all need to save money at the moment, meaning many new companies have recently launched to help us do that. This is a big win for us as you can get cashback on practically everything you shop for! Be it online or instore, groceries, holidays, luxuries or even pet food, at least one of these apps will offer you a great cashback deal on your purchase.
The best part is that all of the apps and websites I am about to share are completely free to download! Some even offer you extra rewards and bonuses for signing up!
I have divided the apps into sections based on the type of cashback they offer and how they work so it is easy for you to get started.
In my opinion, cashback is the best and simplest way to save money and improve your finances in 2024.
So why not get downloading and give them a go? You will be shocked by how much money you can save on your everyday shopping!
Classic
We will start with the classic cashback apps and websites. These use the what I am going to refer to as the “classic” method of redeeming cashback.
When you are shopping online, you would go to one of these apps or sites, find the retailer you would like to shop with, see the cashback they are offering and click through the link provided. The app will then redirect you to your desired retailer where you can then make your purchase. The app will then be able to track your purchase and reward you with your cashback.
The time it takes for the cashback to appear in your app account varies considerably. Some only take 48 hours or so, and some can take months! This all depends on how quickly the retailer pays the app, and is not the app’s fault.
TopCashback
To kick us off we have arguably the biggest and most well-known site on this list.
TopCashback is a website that offers cashback and coupons to their users for free. It is one of the oldest sites, launching here in the UK in 2005 and in the US in 2011.
It is free to use and will give you cashback when you shop at thousands of big online stores.
The average user earns £345 (over $400) per year!
When you buy through a retailer link on Topcashback, it will track your purchase, earn a commission from it and then share a portion of that with you. It will not cost you anything extra.
On top of that they also have coupons that you can often “stack” with cashback so you save on your initial purchase, and earn cashback afterwards.
Though it can take a while for the cashback to be made payable in your account, it is truly unique as you can then withdraw any cashback earned with no minimum! Meaning you could withdraw £0.01 if you wanted to.
You can also withdraw your cashback as gift cards where they often give you a payout bonus, giving you even more to spend!
I have been using TopCashback for years now and have never had any problems with the paying out process unlike some other sites.
TIP: If you are making a big purchase such as a phone, laptop or washing machine ALWAYS check Topcashback before you choose which store to purchase from. It is the big purchases where you can really save money.

quidco
Quidco is a simple cashback app that works in the exact same way as TopCashback.
By shopping through Quidco you can earn money back on all of your purchases. It is simple to use and could save you hundreds of pounds over time.
They offer a wide range of everyday retailers and you can even get cashback on new service providers such as Broadband, Insurance or TV.
I have only recently discovered Quidco but I am very happy with it. A solid, reliable cashback app with good rates and a great range of retailers.

getmyslice
Get My Slice is quite a new cashback app which once again offers cashback at an impressive range of online retailers.
The difference with Get My Slice is that it can personalise and recommend the cashback offers to you. When you link your google or facebook account it can then personalise your experience and recommend which offers they think you will love.
Don’t worry if you do not want to link your accounts though, you can still get access to all of their usual cashback offers from top retailers.
They also have some great other offers such as cash incentives when you apply for free trials with companies such as Audible and Revolut.

weshop
Whilst the WeShop app is classic in the sense that you click through the retailer links on their app to earn cashback, they are a completely new format that could change the face of the online shopping world.
They are “The shoppable social network, owned by you.”
Just like regular cashback sites, your purchase is made through the WeShop app, but instead of earning “cash” back, you earn shares in WeShop, meaning you will own a tiny piece of the whole app!
WeShop is offering an astonishing 90% of its stock as rewards or “shareback” to its members.
They offer shares on every purchase you make at popular brands such as ASOS, Ebay, H&M and Currys.
So once you own shares then what happens? Well they are locked into your WeShop account for 12 months once the purchase has been approved. After this time your shares are unlocked so you may sell them if you wish, or keep them and see how they grow!
I love this app because the rates they offer are genuinely the highest I have ever seen! They often offer 20% sharebacks at major retailers, when the average cashback offers are between 1-5% (in my experience).
Currently, they also offer a 100% shareback on your very first purchase! So you can essentially get all of your money back from your purchase. By making use of this offer when I signed up, I gained over £200 of shares!
TIP: See if you can choose a more expensive purchase for your very first one so that you can take advantage of the 100% shareback!
As it is a social app, you can also connect with people and post about your favourite products. If someone then buys that product through your recommendation you can earn 5% of their basket, giving you even more shares!

Automatic
Next we will move on to my favourite type of cashback…The Automatic Cashback Apps.
With these apps, you securely link your bank cards and spend as usual. You will then be rewarded cashback on your purchases at selected online and instore retailers, without having to do anything!
This is especially great as it means you can often “stack” your cashback with the other classic cashback sites we have already discussed. So you can earn back even more money just from one purchase!
If you make regular purchases at one of the retailers offered, you would be surprised just how quickly your passive cashback can add up. In my opinion, being able to earn completely passive cashback definitely makes these apps top contenders for the Best Cashback apps on the market.
Cheddar
Cheddar offers automatic cashback at a growing number of online and instore retailers.
Simply connect your bank account and that’s it! When you shop instore or online with one of their selected retailers you will automatically earn cashback which will appear in your account in just a few days!
I absolutely love this app because now it is set up, I don’t have to even think about it. All I have to do is shop and I’ve earned cashback!
The best part about it is they offer cashback on supermarkets! So you can get guaranteed cashback every week! You can currently unlock cashback at Sainsburys, Tesco and Co-op if you refer 2 of your friends for that month. They also offer many other retailers such as JustEat, Caffe Nero, Greggs, McDonalds and even TrainLine. The list of retailers they offer is always changing and growing so make sure to check it regularly.

loyalbe
LoyalBe works in a slightly different way to Cheddar. For the automatic cashback offers, you have to first activate them in the app, and then you are free to shop as you please online and instore. This may be slightly more work, but once activated, you won’t have to do anything else.
They offer some great automatic cashback offers at places such as Odeon, Starbucks, Greggs and Subway.
They also offer cashback at many other retailers through the classic method where you must click through their link to shop.
The other big difference is that you earn cashback in the form of “LoyalCoins” where 10 loyalcoins = 1 pence. Once you reach 5000 loyalcoins you can cash out your coins in the form of giftcards (available for many popular shops such as Amazon, Primark, New Look and Argos).
It takes a while to accumulate enough coins to cash out but with my sign up link you will get a great headstart of 1000 loyalCoins!
airtime rewards
Airtime rewards is a really innovative cashback app where instead of earning cash that you can withdraw to your bank account, you earn money to pay for your phone bill.
This is a great way to save on your monthly mobile bill, making those everyday purchases work even harder for you!
You simply link your bank cards and shop as normal at many major online and instore retailers such as Boots, Argos, Greggs and Halfords.
The cashback you earn can then be redeemed off your monthly mobile bill or used as extra credit on pay-as-you-go.
On average, members save £10 a month on their mobile bill, with many eliminating their bill completely!
They only support selected mobile network providers such as EE, O2 and Vodaphone (and more). Unfortunately, if your provider is not on their list of supported providers, this app will not work for you. But you could always generously send your rewards to pay for a family member’s phone bill!
My mobile provider is not supported currently so this is the one app on this list I don’t personally have, but it comes highly recommended to me and thoroughly researched. I do not have a referral link for you but here is the regular link so that you can download Airtime Rewards and start saving!
Food
The next two apps are very similar and both help you save money on your regular, supermarket grocery shop. Each app offers a variation of products so it is well worth downloading both.
Check each app for what products they currently have offers on and save them, then just shop as normal at your favourite supermarket, take a picture of your receipt with the app and BOOM, you will get cashback on certain items once the receipt has been approved. You can then cash out your cashback as normal.
They are both free to use so why not download both and double your ability to save money.
Shopmium
On the Shopmium app, you may be asked to scan the product barcodes as well as the receipt.
I have found that they currently offer more items that I am likely to buy and even offer 100% cashback on certain items.

Greenjinn
Greenjinn is a very popular app and works in the same way as Shopmium. I have found that they offer cashback at a wider range of supermarkets.

Gift Cards
Finally we will cover possibly the most ingenious type of cashback… The Gift card!
Yes, you can now earn cashback when you buy gift cards!
This is amazing because it opens up so many more possibilities to get cashback instore. And it is really simple too! You just find what shop you want a gift card for and purchase it online. Your online gift card will then be emailed to you or it will appear in the app. You can then show it instore or use it online whenever you next shop there.
So if you have a shop you regularly go to, it may be worth getting a gift card before your next shop.
Gift cards are no longer just gifts for other people, they are a new way for you to save money on your everyday shopping!
Jamdoughnut
The JamDoughnut app offers you instant cashback at over 150+ shops, restaurants, cafes and supermarkets all through gift cards.
You simply choose your desired retailer and purchase your gift card securely through the app. You will then receive a barcode that you can use in-store at the checkout.
The cashback will instantly appear in your JamDoughnut wallet as points that you can later cash out once you reach £10.
Don’t worry if you don’t spend everything you put on your gift card, it will remain there for you to use next time. You can even use any other vouchers or loyalty cards in conjunction with your gift card to maximise your savings.

We already spoke about TopCashBack in the classic section of this post. But within their site, you can find TopGiftCards which offers a wide range of e-gift cards with great cashback percentages.
Simply purchase a giftcard of your specified amount and they will email it straight to you! The cashback will then track and appear in your account shortly after.
As well as many restaurants and cafes, they also offer gift cards for some cinemas, so make sure you check the website before making any future plans.
